Tank Cleaning in Israel

Tank cleaning covers fuel and oil tanks, water reservoirs, process vessels, silos, separators and the sludge that settles in them. The work combines vacuum trucks, high-pressure water, chemical cleaning and, for large tanks, crews who go inside.

Going inside is regulated. Under the Safety at Work Ordinance, a tank or other enclosed space that may hold dangerous fumes may be entered only with suitable breathing apparatus, or after the fumes have been removed and with the person inside wearing a belt tied to a rope held by someone outside.

The companies here work from Haifa, Nesher, Ashdod, Rehovot, Lod, Afula and other towns. Sea Tech in Haifa uses divers and underwater robots on water reservoirs; others empty and wash tanks from vacuum trucks. Ask how the crew enters and monitors the tank, where the sludge goes, and whether they can work while the tank stays in service.
